Concept 2
BrightAway
The second concept is a bicycle light that brightens the road in front of the user. The intensity of the light is controlled by a light sensor on top of the light. The less light the sensor picks up, so how darker the surrounding is, the brighter the bicycle light will shine.
The light will brighten the road ahead resulting in a better contrast when it is dark outside. This way the users can see better where the side of the road is.
People with the Stargardt disease need a lot of time for their eyes to get used to a darker surrounding such as a tunnel. The light will also intensify when the user cycles through a tunnel. Which will help the user to adapt better to the darker tunnel.

The light would be able to connect to the steering wheel or underneath a bicycle basket.
