3 nerves in the hand
To make a more logical decision about where the vibration sensors must be placed in the handles, there needs to be looked at the sensory distribution of the hand. Different nerves in the hand can send distinct signals to the brain. There are three kinds of nerve innervation of the hand; the radial nerve, the ulnar nerve and the median nerve.
The ulnar nerve gathers sensory information of the little finger and half the ring finger. The median nerve gathers sensory information of mostly the palmar side of the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of the ring finger. To conclude, if there are two vibration appliances in a bicycle handle, one of them should give a signal to the ulnar nerve, and the other should give a signal to the radial nerve.
